Sunset and dinner under the stars at Sonara Camp

Thirty minutes from the heart of Dubai lies a unique restaurant and dining experience, ‘Sunset and Dinner’ by Sonara Camp. Having opened in November 2019 Sonara Camp is a one of a kind desert experience where guests can experience Arabian hospitality while dining under the stars.

The seasonal sunset and dinner menu is a melange of Mediterranean and locally inspired Arabic fusion dishes, blended to evoke delicious flavour combinations. Starters include sea bream Tahitian ceviche served in a crispy cone and finished with avocado wasabi emulsion’, iced-cold gazpacho soup with vanilla oil, traditional moutabal with freshly baked Arabic bread, and pulled shoulder of lamb.

Main courses feature the black Angus picanha from the grill served with arugula Chimichurri, roasted cauliflower and tahini dressing, and a locally caught perch on the grill with stir-fried seasonal vegetables and creamy yuzu sauce.

The sharing concept allows guests to indulge in all the menu has to offer, including the new decadent dessert of strawberry and olive oil pie with fresh thyme and orange blossom mascarpone. For those with food allergies or preferences, the Sonara Camp team will ensure the experience is curated, and these requests are accommodated.

Set high upon a sand dune within the Dubai Conservation Area, Sonara Camp offers unspoilt sunset views over the Arabian desert where guests can embark on a range of desert experiences including camel rides, live music from an Oud player, and a falcon show, ahead of their relaxing dinner. Those looking for more action can dive into one of the activities on offer, from archery and volleyball to sandboarding, fire shows or a tour with a conservationist or star gazing with an astronomer.
