Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi: The music festival debuts in March 2023

The London-born festival is famous for its A-list headliners.

Brits will be familiar with Wireless Festival, as the music festival has had headliners ranging from Rihanna to Kanye West. Now the festival is making its way to the UAE in March 2023, promising to bring A-list acts to Abu Dhabi.

Details about Wireless Festival in Abu Dhabi are limited – there are no line-up or ticket prices yet, but judging from previous events, it’s expected to be a showstopper. The festival has attracted the biggest names in the music industry, as other headliners have included Jay-Z, Drake, Bruno Mars, Black Eyed Peas and Stormzy.

Wireless Festival started life in London’s Hyde Park back in 2005, and has since taken place across the city in the Olympic Park, Crystal Palace Park and Finsbury Park. Plus, it has taken place in Leeds and Birmingham, and outside of the UK in Frankfurt, Germany.

Over the years, Wireless Festival has created memorable musical moments. Drake booed the rain away, Prince Harry was once spotted in the crowd, Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne rolled above the crowd in an inflatable bubble, and Kanye West ranted for 20 minutes about creative freedom and Nike.

Plus, while the line-ups are usually enough to get excited about, there are often surprise guests: Drake welcomed Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake bought out Jay-Z, and Jay-Z shared the stage with Rihanna.

If you can’t wait until next year, there are plenty of great concerts and festivals on the horizon. Jason Derulo, Kendrick Lamar and Westlife are just some of the names set to perform in the UAE.
