London is no stranger to an immersive experience, seeing a rise in such offerings over the last few years. This month, the news of an even bigger and better attraction will contribute to this ever-growing list. The team behind Boomtown Fair are bringing Absurd City to London. Opening on 15 October, the attraction is Europe’s biggest immersive art experience and will span a space of 80,000 square feet.

Absurd City will be located in the space that used to house the interactive play space KidZania. The London opening comes after the successful debut of Wake The Tiger’s Bristol attraction, Dream Factory in 2022, which has since seen over half a million visitors from over 70 different countries.
Visitors to Absurd City will be known as ‘daytrippers’, and are invited to leave reality behind and enter a new cityscape that runs on entirely different rules. Major details about the attraction are yet to be released, but the creators have revealed that there will be four distinct districts for visitors to explore. Expect secret passageways, installations and storytelling, suitable for all ages and abilities.
Visitors can get a sneak peak of what‘s to come in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush this week. To mark the launch, a free double decker bus installation inspired by Absurd City will be at Westfield Square from Wednesday 22 July to Tuesday 28 July. Luke Mitchell, the company’s Chief Creative Officer and co-founder, said: “We’ve built a cosmic, eccentric and deeply human playground that we can’t wait for London to explore.”
Tickets for the attraction are on sale now, via the official website.
