Famous for bringing movies to life – literally – with spectacular sets, actors and live music, Secret Cinema has built a loyal following. It has now announced that it will host Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure. Opening in February 2027, it will run for 10 weeks at the company’s new venue in Greenwich.

Secret Cinema has popped up all over London, transforming unexpected spaces into cinematic playgrounds. Founded by Fabien Riggall in 2007, it set out to revolutionise the traditional cinema experience by combining screenings with immersive live performances in secret locations. The tagline is “be part of something bigger”.

Secret Cinema has announced its Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl experience. The concept was originally scheduled for 2020, although COVID had other plans. The company recently announced a permanent venue at Greenwich Peninsula, which is scheduled to open before the end of the year.

The experience will bring to life the 2003 film, which starred Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. If you’d like to live out your swashbuckling fantasies, you will be able to immerse yourself in the film with set pieces and actors. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in costume. An eyepatch, anyone?

Secret Cinema chief executive Merritt Baer explained: “Get ready for high jinks on the high seas! With epic aerial stunts, fearless swordfights and a cast of your favourite swashbuckling pirates, where better to invite audiences than raucous Tortuga and aboard the Black Pearl for the ultimate cinematic adventure: Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean.
