The historic Mayfair mansion will reopen as a 102-room hotel complete with destination dining, a sprawling wellbeing space and a private members’ club.
The UK has no shortage of historic hotels, but one of Mayfair’s grandest addresses is preparing for a new chapter. Cambridge House will open in London in February 2027, transforming the Grade I-listed landmark into a luxury hotel and marking Auberge Collection’s debut in the capital.
Located at 94 Piccadilly, between Green Park and Shepherd Market, the 102-room hotel and residences form part of Reuben Brothers’ £1 billion regeneration of the Piccadilly Estate. The project aims to preserve the property’s history while introducing new restaurants, bars, wellbeing facilities and social spaces.

Cambridge House has quite the story. The Palladian-style mansion was commissioned by the 2nd Earl of Egremont in 1756 and later became home to several prominent figures, including the Duke of Cambridge. Over the centuries, the building has welcomed members of royalty, politicians and London society, before becoming synonymous with the Naval and Military Club, better known as the In & Out.
The transformation will see that Georgian character carried into a new era. French designer Jean-Louis Deniot is overseeing the hotel and guest spaces, drawing on traditional English design while reflecting the varied cultural influences that shape modern Britain.

Food will play a significant role in the Cambridge House experience. The headline restaurant will be Major’s, a new concept from Major Food Group, the hospitality company behind CARBONE, Torrisi and ZZ’s Club.
Taking over the restored Georgian ballroom and courtyard, Major’s will combine the traditions of the American chophouse with those of the classic London grill. British produce will sit at the heart of the menu, with seafood towers, caviar service and a selection of meat, fish and game among the highlights. Tableside service will also feature, alongside classic grilling techniques and an emphasis on premium ingredients.
Drinks will be equally important. The bar will serve more than 10 interpretations of the martini, alongside a substantial wine programme designed to complement the restaurant’s old-school dining approach.

Cambridge House will also make wellbeing central to the hotel. Inspired by Roman bathhouses and British healing traditions, the facilities will span three floors and include hydrotherapy experiences, a heated swimming pool, six treatment rooms and a circular relaxation lounge centred around a fire pit.
Elsewhere, guests visiting Cambridge House in London will have access to a gym, immersive fitness studios, wet and heat rooms and a bathhouse, creating a wellbeing space designed to combine relaxation with a more social approach to fitness.
