Diaspora Calling! is heading to the United Kingdom, and the lineup is shaping up to be one of the most significant cultural gatherings of the summer. Taking place at Milton Keynes National Bowl on Friday, 7 August 2026, the festival will bring together leading voices from music, comedy and culture for a celebration of the African diaspora.
The event will be headlined by Ms. Lauryn Hill, who will perform her only confirmed UK show of the year. The Grammy Award-winning artist will also reunite with Wyclef Jean for a special performance of “The Score”, marking the 30th anniversary of the landmark Fugees album. The lineup also includes YG Marley and Zion Marley, creating a multi-generational programme rooted in legacy, rhythm and cultural connection.
Dave Chappelle will host Diaspora Calling! 2026, bringing his distinctive voice to the events’ UK debut. Widely regarded as one of the most influential comedians of his generation, Chappelle has built a career on sharp social commentary, fearless storytelling and a deep understanding of culture and identity. From Chappelle’s Show to his acclaimed stand-up specials, his work has shaped modern comedy while sparking conversations far beyond the stage.
Erykah Badu also joins the lineup, adding one of neo-soul’s most important voices to the festival. Since the release of her debut album Baduizm, the singer, songwriter and performer has become a defining figure in contemporary soul music. Known for tracks such as “On & On,” “Bag Lady” and “Tyrone,” Badu’s artistry blends jazz, R&B, hip-hop and spirituality. Her presence reinforces the festival’s focus on creativity, consciousness and Black cultural expression.
Giggs will represent the UK’s rap scene at Diaspora Calling! 2026. The South London artist has played a major role in shaping British rap, with his deep delivery and streetwise storytelling helping to define a generation. From Talkin’ Da Hardest to collaborations with Drake, Jorja Smith and Popcaan, Giggs has remained one of the UK’s most recognisable and respected rap figures.
Lastly, Fireboy DML will bring Afrobeats energy to Milton Keynes National Bowl. The Nigerian singer and songwriter rose to international attention with songs including “Jealous,” “Peru,” and “Vibration,” building a sound that blends Afrobeats, R&B and pop. His inclusion highlights the festival’s cross-continental reach and its commitment to showcasing artists shaping the sound of the diaspora today.
Founded by Ms. Lauryn Hill in 2016, Diaspora Calling! began as a music and arts platform in Brooklyn, created to celebrate the creativity, histories and cultural impact of the African diaspora. What started as a curated art exhibition and live performance has since grown into a wider cultural movement, connecting artists and audiences through shared heritage and expression.
