London’s concert calendar is welcoming another influential voice in contemporary R&B. Syd will bring her Beard Tour to O2 Forum Kentish Town in London on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, following a Manchester performance at the Albert Hall.
Born Sydney Bennett, the Los Angeles artist first gained attention as a member of Odd Future, the disruptive hip-hop collective that introduced audiences to Tyler, The Creator, Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt. Syd worked as the group’s DJ, recording engineer and producer, with her home studio becoming an important base for its early music.
In 2011, she co-founded The Internet with Matt Martians. Guitarist Steve Lacy joined the band later, helping shape the soulful, psychedelic sound heard across tracks such as “Girl,” “Special Affair” and “Come Over.” The group’s breakthrough album, Ego Death, received a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album in 2016, establishing The Internet as one of alternative R&B’s most important acts.
Syd began her solo career with Fin in 2017. The album introduced a darker, more intimate sound through tracks including “All About Me,” “Body” and “Know.” She followed it with Broken Hearts Club in 2022, featuring collaborations with Kehlani, Lucky Daye and Smino. Her wider credits include music with Lil Uzi Vert, Daniel Caesar, Kaytranada, The Neighbourhood and Beyoncé. Syd also received an Album of the Year Grammy nomination as a contributor to Beyoncé’s Renaissance.
The upcoming London concert supports Syd’s recently released third studio album, Beard. Released on 17 July 2026, the 12-track record includes “Callin” with Blu June, alongside “Walls,” “My Love,” “Bad Guys,” “Any Time” and “2 Many Days.” Collaborators across the project include Raphael Saadiq, Big Sean, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Van Hunt and Jordan Ward.
Explaining the inspiration behind its title, Syd said: “I fell in love with my peach fuzz and it made me rethink everything that was supposed to make me feel insecure.” The album explores individuality, relationships and self-acceptance, with much of its spacious production handled by Syd herself.
The London date forms part of a short European run that also visits Glasgow, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam and Copenhagen. Tickets to see Syd live in London are on sale now.
