If you love change, then make your way over to Rocola. On 8 July 2026, the new restaurant is set to open on Mare Street in Hackney. Created by the team behind Crudo Cocina Latina in Covent Garden and Shoreditch, and Tiny Wine in Fitzrovia, they are set to open a restaurant with a rotating residency.

Founded by Maria Yanez and Carlos Socorro, Rocola is a new restaurant, bar and rotating kitchen. Inspired by the Spanish word for ‘jukebox’, Rocola reflects a place where different chefs, flavours, sounds and ideas come together under one roof. The aim is to bring chefs from different backgrounds, all covering different cuisines.

At the heart of the venue is the open kitchen, and diners will be able to watch the chefs at work. The venue will boast an industrial-chic aesthetic with exposed concrete and warm lighting. Seating includes ten places at the counter and sixteen seats across the dining room.

Rocola will offer its own food and drinks menu, as well as a changing programme of guest chefs, kitchen residencies, wine tastings, collaborations and music nights. The Tiny Wine team have brought together 60 to 80 bottles, which showcase independent producers. Cocktails draw inspiration from Latin America, and include Margaritas, Palomas and Pisco Sours.

The Dublin-born chef, Nico Reynolds, will host the first residency. His cooking celebrates his Jamaican heritage, Irish upbringing and years spent cooking in South America. The result: a fresh take on Caribbean cuisine. Nico’s menu includes Aji de Gallina Tostadas, Prawn Causa, Smashed Beetroot Salad with Coconut and Lime Leaf, and Summer Squash Tiradito. Larger sharing plates include Jerk Lamb Shepherd’s Pie Coxinha, Monkfish and Mussels with Nduja Butter, and Patacones, while Mango Cheesecake rounds off the menu.

Co-founder Maria Yanez said: “Rocola is about creating a restaurant that feels alive every time you walk in. We wanted to build a place with its own food, drinks and identity, but also one that could make space for new chefs, ideas and experiences throughout the year. The open kitchen is central to that. Guests can see the energy of the room, meet the people cooking for them and feel part of what is happening that night.”
