• Turkish Restaurant KID will open in Soho later this year.

  • The new spot will be run by Sertaç Dirik of Mangal II and David Carter of OMA.

  • The menu will take inspiration from the food that shaped Sertaç’s childhood.

KID in Soho comes from the team behind Mangal II and OMA.

We finally have an update on Sertaç Dirik’s moves after Mangal II, and it’s come in the form of a new Turkish restaurant. Created in collaboration with David Carter (founder of OMA, AGORA and SMOKESTAK, and co-founder of Manteca), the new concept KID Soho is set to open in September 2026.

Coming off the back of the huge success of his family’s ocakbaşı (meaning ‘by the grill’) spot, Mangal II, chef Sertaç Dirik’s next venture is a highly anticipated one. The menu will take inspiration from the food that shaped Sertaç’s childhood, with a particular focus on the flavours of Central Anatolia, using local British produce.

KID Soho

Dishes include: tombik pide and seeded sourdough pide with kaymak butter; çökelek cheese with summer peas and carosello cucumber; Turkish sivri peppers with pomegranate molasses and kashkaval cheese; içli köfte; XL scallops with horoz beans in a scallop roe, white wine and red pepper sauce; braised goat kid; seasonal Turkish delights and baklava, and more.

The restaurant will see the grill at its centre, with counter seating, as well as a wine room that doubles up as a private dining space and an in-house bakery downstairs. This will all be housed in a Turkish-architectural-inspired space, with terracotta banquettes and handmade Anatolian pieces.

Sertaç Dirik said: “It’s with massive excitement we’re opening the doors to KID in Soho. At its core, KID is a restaurant that aims to show the vastness of Turkish cooking, expressed with the warmth you’d come to expect from someone’s home. Utilising the techniques I grew up learning from my parents, I feel it is an absolute privilege to serve you this summer in London’s most distinctive neighbourhood.”
