Chez Rose marks the second collaboration between the chefs.
FACT Dining Award winner Jason Atherton has made his mark across the world, from London to Dubai. Now, he has announced that he will once again join forces with chef Spencer Metzger, and create the modern French bistro Chez Rose in Mayfair, London. Scheduled to open on 1 June 2026, here is what you need to know.
Chez Rose marks the pair’s latest collaboration following the success of Row on 5. While the new restaurant will be led by Spencer, it promises to offer a completely different atmosphere. Inspired by Spencer’s grandmother, Chez Rose aims to create a warm and welcoming dining experience centred around comforting French cooking. Plus, it will be located on Pollen Street, which has been home to previous Jason Atherton restaurants.
In French, the word chez means home, and it suggests that the restaurant hopes to create that feeling. The chef has often spoken fondly of his childhood memories, particularly his grandmother’s chicken soup, which helped shape his love of food from an early age. The restaurant will bring classic French flavours to the heart of Mayfair. While the full menu has not yet been unveiled, the dishes are expected to focus on high-quality seasonal produce and refined techniques that allow the ingredients to shine.
If you cannot wait until the opening, the pair’s other restaurants are well worth visiting. Jason Atherton’s portfolio includes FACT Dining Awards London nominees City Social, Sael and Row on 5. Opened in 2024, Row on 5 earned the duo two Michelin Stars. Spencer also previously worked at sister restaurant Row on 45 in Dubai, which also received two Michelin stars and a FACT Dining Award Dubai.
Happy eating.
