The Tayēr + Elementary team have created a new concept.
Casual by Tayēr will open a six-week residency.
The site will be open from 15 July to 22 August 2026.

The FACT Dining Awards Nominated Tayēr + Elementary made a name for itself in London. The bar boasted a firm following among critics and customers. After it was recently hit with a fire, it has been forced to close and will now reopen as a pop-up, Casual by Tayēr. Running from 15 July to 22 August, it will be located in Cato in Covent Garden.
While repairs are underway for Tayēr + Elementary, fans will not be left in the lurch. In the meantime, the owners Alex Kratena and Monica Berg are going full steam ahead with a sister project, Casual by Tayēr. The six-week residency will take over Cato’s basement bar. The bar will be walk in only, and not accept reservations.
The full drinks list is still under wraps, we do know that it will serve a menu of cocktails that combine the style of Tayēr with the technique and precision of Elementary. The food menu has been created for the residency, and showcases Latin American flavours. Dishes include the Cubano Sandwich, Tamago Sando and Yellowtail Tiradito.
Monica Berg said: “Casual by Tayēr is our way of staying connected to the people who have supported us, even as we navigate an unexpected moment of change. This residency gives us the freedom to be playful, responsive, and a little spontaneous to create something that feels fresh while still rooted in the values that define Tayēr + Elementary.”
