Are you freak? Are you a weirdo? Fans of Shakespeare and Radiohead have reason to celebrate, as a cool theatre production is finally heading to London. Following sold-out runs in Manchester and Stratford-upon-Avon, Hamlet Hail to the Thief will transfer to the Barbican Theatre and run from 31 October to 23 January.

The production brings together William Shakespeare’s iconic tragedy and Radiohead’s acclaimed 2003 album Hail to the Thief. The show blends theatre, music and movement. Co-created by Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, directors Christine Jones and Steven Hoggett, the show reimagines the band’s sixth studio album as a haunting live score performed on stage by a cast of musicians and actors.

Audiences can also look forward to the return of many of the original cast, including Samuel Blenkin as Hamlet and Paul Hilton as Claudius. After winning over audiences during its sold-out premiere last year, the production has evolved. Thom said: “I’m finally bringing Hamlet Hail to the Thief to London, and to the Barbican of all places. It is fascinating and very strange to me how this came to life and how it has worked. I am happy for it to be seen by a wider audience in such an intense space.”

Set in a troubled Elsinore where corruption lurks beneath the surface, the production follows Hamlet and Ophelia as they confront unsettling truths about the world around them. Against a backdrop of political unrest, ghostly revelations and emotional turmoil, Thom’s reworked score breathes new life into Shakespeare’s timeless tale.
