Rosewood Hong Kong retains the number one spot on the World’s 50 Best Hotels for a second consecutive year.
Raffles London at The OWO places at number 28, while The Connaught ranks at number 49.
Estelle Manor in Witney gives the UK a fourth entry, climbing to number 43.
Rosewood Hong Kong has retained the top spot in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026.
The World’s 50 Best Hotels has unveiled its 2026 ranking at a ceremony at Les Salles du Carrousel in Paris, marking the first time the awards have been held outside London. Now in its fourth year, the list celebrates standout hospitality experiences across the globe, with this year’s ranking spanning 22 territories and six continents.
Taking the number one position for a second consecutive year is Rosewood Hong Kong. The hotel previously ranked third in 2024 before climbing to first place in 2025, and has now retained the title of The World’s Best Hotel. It was also named The Best Hotel in Asia.
Four hotels represented the United Kingdom. London claimed three spots, with Claridge’s rising to number 13, Raffles London at The OWO ranking at number 28 and The Connaught at number 49. Outside the capital, Estelle Manor in Witney climbed four positions to number 43.
Europe had the strongest representation in 2026, accounting for 21 hotels, followed by Asia with 18. North America secured six places, while South America and Africa each had two and Oceania had one.
Elsewhere, Capella Bangkok climbed from third place in 2025 to number two, while Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River took third place. Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal rose to number four, while Passalacqua in Lake Como completed the top five.
Atlantis The Royal also retained the title of The Best Hotel in the Middle East and picked up the Best Beach Hotel Award. Dubai had another reason to celebrate, with Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab climbing five places to number 15.
Rosewood São Paulo made one of the biggest moves on the list, climbing 18 places to number six and securing The Best Hotel in South America. Mandarin Oriental Qianmen in Beijing ranked seventh, followed by Upper House Hong Kong at number eight and Chablé Yucatán in Mexico at number nine. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok rounded out the top 10.
A series of special awards recognised individual properties and figures across the hospitality industry. Passalacqua won the Best Boutique Hotel Award for the third consecutive year, while Chablé Yucatán received the Bombay Sapphire Eco Hotel Award. Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Los Cabos rose 19 places to number 25 and claimed the WhistlePig Highest Climber Award.
