Covent Garden is set to host a Summer Street Party on 25 July. The central London neighbourhood of Seven Dials will be entirely car-free for just one day, and provide a peaceful and accessible day of fun for all.
The ever-bustling neighbourhood is known for its busy and narrow yet charming cobbled streets, but for one day this July, all eight of the streets surrounding the Seven Dials Monument will be transformed for a summer party. The party is part of Covent Garden’s Now Playing campaign, which coincides with The Royal Ballet School’s 100th birthday.
Covent Garden will host a stacked lineup of gifting experiences, activations, special discounts and complimentary treats throughout the day across its local businesses. Shops including Ganni, Kiko Milano and Moleskine will offer sales of up to 50 percent off, while customers at brands like Missoma, Guerlain and Nespresso can get a free gift. A range of different pop ups will also be available.
There will also be pop-up bars around the neighbourhood. The Summer Street Party Bar will be serving cocktails created specifically for the day, including the Monmouth Margarita, Covent Garden Breeze, Street Party Paloma and Seven Dials Spritz. Venues including Brasserie Max at the Covent Garden Hotel, Cô Thành and Harry’s will provide food.
As well as pop-ups and discounts, there will be an art installation, featuring 25 hand-crafted paper sculptures, placed throughout the Market Building’s Central Avenue, which will run until September.
The pedestrian-only rules will apply to Monmouth Street, Mercer Street, Earlham Street and Shorts Gardens.
