Do you like scary movies? Well, you’re in luck. Tubi FrightFest 2026 has announced its festival dates. Running from 27 to 31 August 2026, the event showcases the UK’s biggest horror films. The event takes over Odeon Luxe Leicester Square and Odeon Luxe West End, and here’s how to get hold of tickets.
The UK’s biggest horror film festival, Tubi FrightFest 2026, is now in its 26th year. The event will bring together a record-breaking 82 films across five days, including 24 world premieres from 16 countries.
Horror is hitting the box office hard right now. Backrooms and Obsession have had rave reviews from audiences and critics. So, it’s a great time to get into the scary film spirit(s). Tubi FrightFest 2026 opens with the world premiere of Abner Pastoll’s Nervous, a psychological thriller shot entirely in South Korea. Reuniting Pastoll with A Good Woman Is Hard to Find star Sarah Bolger, the film follows a woman who mysteriously begins losing the ability to hear men’s voices. As her surroundings become increasingly disorienting, paranoia, hallucinations and dangerous obsessions begin to take hold. Pastoll and members of the cast are set to attend the screening.
Another major draw is Colony, the latest zombie thriller from Yeon Sang-ho, the South Korean filmmaker behind Train to Busan. Starring Gianna Jun, the film centres on a biotechnology professor attending a conference in Seoul when a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed. With the building placed under lockdown, those trapped inside must contend with infected victims who continue to evolve. The film was previously screened at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar brings horror and dark humour together in Ghost in the Cell. Set inside a high-security prison, the film sees inmates forced to put aside gang rivalries when a supernatural presence begins killing prisoners. What follows is a gruesome survival story with a satirical streak, continuing the director’s reputation for socially conscious genre filmmaking.
Closing the festival is the UK premiere of Species, the feature debut from French writer-director Marion Le Corroller. The darkly comic sci-fi body horror uses physical mutation to explore the pressures of Gen Z working life and workplace burnout. Its special make-up effects come courtesy of Pierre-Olivier Persin, who won an Academy Award for his work on The Substance.
On 27 August, the line-up includes Big Baby, Colony, and Nervous. On 28 August, the line-up includes Drag, Hungry, Frostbite, Imposters, and Ponderosa. On 29 August, the line-up includes Dead Reset, Ghost in the Cell, Grind, Ithaqua, Labyrinth and The Nameless Ballad. On 30 August, the line-up includes Alien, Gator Force, The Last Temptation of Becky, and Spider Island. On 31 August, the line-up includes Hyena, Oddities and Species.
