UMusic Hotel Denmark Street will open in London in Q4 2026.
The property will be UMusic Hotels’ first UK hotel and its second European location.
Universal Music and Outernet will collaborate on live music, nightlife, dining and cultural programming across the district.

London’s legendary Denmark Street has played a starring role in British music history, and now Universal Music Group is preparing to give visitors another reason to make the pilgrimage. UMusic Hotel Denmark Street will open in the capital towards the end of 2026, turning one of London’s most famous musical addresses into a new hospitality and entertainment destination.
For generations, the narrow Soho street has been synonymous with singers, songwriters and musicians. Nicknamed Britain’s “Tin Pan Alley”, Denmark Street became known for its publishers, recording studios, rehearsal rooms and guitar shops. Its musical connections stretch from The Rolling Stones and The Kinks to David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Elton John, cementing the street’s reputation as one of London’s most significant music addresses.
UMusic Hotel Denmark Street comes from UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle, the hospitality division connected to Universal Music Group, in partnership with Outernet London. Scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2026, the property will be UMusic Hotels’ first UK location and only its second in Europe. The brand debuted with UMusic Hotel Madrid in 2022.
The opening forms part of a much larger collaboration between UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle and Outernet. The partnership will span live performances, nightlife, food and beverage concepts, lounges and artist-led programming across the wider Outernet district. UMusic will also take responsibility for programming and operations at The Lower Third, the grassroots live music venue on Denmark Street, working with Universal Music Group’s network of artists, labels and creative partners.
While details of the London hotel’s rooms, restaurants and facilities have yet to be revealed, its Madrid sibling offers some clues about the brand’s music-first approach. The five-star UMusic Hotel Madrid has 130 rooms, a piano bar, a seasonal pool and spaces dedicated to music and culture. Guests can also discover live performances and even a vinyl and record-player room where electric guitars are available to borrow.
Reports suggest UMusic Hotel Denmark Street could take over the former Chateau Denmark, the 55-room music-inspired hotel that closed in August 2026 after four years. However, neither UMusic nor Outernet has officially confirmed the exact property in its announcement.
