Meaning ‘Fall’ in Japanese, 99 Sushi’s Aki tasting menu pays tribute to the venue’s star ingredient “toro.” With 13 extraordinary dishes, the menu unfolds in a sequence of premium creations, from the truffled capumiso soup to the sea bass and scallop ceviche, the 99 Katsusando and the Panko Mistura Maki. The Gipsy’s at Trader Vic’s, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah

Polynesian-themed restaurant Trader Vic’s JBR is bringing back Flamenco band, The Gipsy’s to perform live this weekend. Juan and Jean-Michel will be turning up the volume with classic hits such as Bamboleo, Volare, Baila Me and Djobi Djoba. Diners can enjoy Trader Vic’s culinary favourites such as Vic’s original poke, Peking duck, wok-fired chicken chow mein and jalapeño cheese balls, adding Latin flair to an especially ‘caliente’ week. Thursday 14 to Saturday 16 October, from 8pm to 2am.

The Secret Garden Brunch at Flair 5, The Ritz-Carlton DIFC

Famed as one of the most Instagrammable venues in town, The Secret Garden Brunch brunch at Flair 5 ticks all the boxes for food, drinks, entertainment and atmosphere. This Secret Parties favourite is back for a new season with a menu of black cod miso glaze, maki rolls, ceviche and sharing dessert platters. The space reflects the restaurant’s stylish interior, showcasing a chic industrial design that is effortlessly cool. Mare Nostrum Tasting Menu at Torno Subito, W Dubai – The Palm

Take a culinary trip back to the 1950s’ Italian Riviera with Torno Subito’s October tasting menu: Mare Nostrum. Kick start your Italian feast with Welcome From The Kitchen (mashed potato, black caviar and bagna cauda foam), followed by carpaccio (red shrimps, mixed seasonal vegetables and a roasted corn sauce). Next up is gnocchi di scampi (langoustine gnocchi served with seaweed, olive broth, and basil essence). The six-course tasting extravaganza continues with Fregola pasta (Mediterranean clams, lemon and bottarga) and acquapazza (roasted cod with mixed vegetables). Finally, cocco bello guarantees a sweet ending to the meal, with a refreshing pineapple salad, lemon and mint sorbet and foamy coconut and lime meringue. Available daily, from 6:30pm to 11pm. AED 499 (food only). A complimentary bottle of grape can be availed when ordering two Mare Nostrum tasting menus per table.
