Ons has reached the finals of two Grand Slams: Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023, and the US Open in 2022. She reached a career-high ranking of world No. 2 in June 2022, making her the highest-ranked African and Arab tennis player in WTA and ATP rankings history. She currently sits at No. 6 in the world.

WTA number 11-ranked player Beatriz Haddad Maia will return to Abu Dhabi for the second edition of the all-female tournament. The Brazilian, who is currently 11th in the WTA rankings, produced a string of impressive performances during last year’s inaugural Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, defeating the likes of Marie Bouzkova, Yulia Putintseva and Elena Rybakina en route to the semi-finals, where she was beaten by eventual winner Bencic.
