The WTA500 tournament forms an integral part of the Hologic WTA Tour, showcasing the participation of the world’s top female players during nine days of thrilling action and entertainment. Recognised as one of the premier women’s tournaments on the WTA Tour, this event will bring together some of the most exceptional talents in women’s tennis.

Set against the backdrop of Zayed Sports City, the second edition of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open promises to be a spectacular showcase, featuring 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams. This unmissable moment on the 2024 tennis calendar will undoubtedly present fans with the opportunity to witness the prowess of the world’s greatest women’s tennis athletes on an iconic stage.

Fan-favourite and current top-ten player Ons Jabeur will debut at Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open 2024. In an illustrious sporting career, she has won five singles titles on the WTA Tour, including the prestigious Madrid Open in 2022. Ons has reached the finals of two Grand Slams: Wimbledon in 2022 and 2023, and the US Open in 2022. She reached a career-high ranking of world No. 2 in June 2022, making her the highest-ranked African and Arab tennis player in WTA and ATP rankings history. She currently sits at No. 6 in the world.

WTA number 11-ranked player Beatriz Haddad Maia will return to Abu Dhabi for the second edition of the all-female tournament. The Brazilian, who is currently 11th in the WTA rankings, produced a string of impressive performances during last year’s inaugural Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, defeating the likes of Marie Bouzkova, Yulia Putintseva and Elena Rybakina en route to the semi-finals, where she was beaten by eventual winner Bencic.
