Discover the ground breaking new features, from crash detection to an emergency SOS.
Apple lovers, it’s that time of the year. Apple has launched its new iPhones: iPhone 14, iPhone Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In true Silicon Valley style, Apple held its annual product launch from its California headquarters, and unveiled the new phones in all their tech-tastic glory.
Apple continues to push the boundaries of what is possible with a smartphone. Let’s be honest, making a call is probably the last thing you do with your phone. So, the cool new features include a 48MP camera with a quad-pixel sensor, ultra-wide camera and an action mode for smooth-looking videos.
Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, explains: “Our customers count on their iPhone every day, and with iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, we’re delivering more advancements than any other iPhone. Ground-breaking safety capabilities bring users even more security, offering help when they need it most. And with the incredibly powerful and efficient A16 Bionic chip and all-day battery life, this is the best iPhone yet.”
Here’s what you need to know about the new Apple iPhone 14, and how you can get your hands on one in the UAE.
How much does the iPhone 14 cost in the UAE?
The new iPhone 14 starts from AED 3,399 and the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max start from AED 4,299. If you want to stay on trend, you can trade in your old iPhone for a shiny new one. When you trade in, this means that you take your old Apple products and use them to get money off of new products. So, depending on the model and the condition of your iPhone, you could save up to AED 3,650.
Where can I buy the iPhone 14 in the UAE?
In the UAE, you can pre-order the new iPhones from 4pm on 9 September. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro is available from 16 September, and the iPhone Plus is available from 7 October.
Pre-order your new iPhone online from www.apple.com/ae/ or the Apple app store. Plus, pre-orders are accepted at Apple Stores across the UAE including Mall of the Emirates, The Dubai Mall, Yas Mall Abu Dhabi and The Galleria Al Maryah Island.
How is the new iPhone 14 designed?
Say hello to that signature, sleek Apple design. The new iPhone 14 line is as smart as ever, and features a textured matte glass design. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus come in blue, purple, midnight, starlight and red. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max come in dark purple, silver, gold and black.
The new iPhone family has grown up, as the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro is 6.1 inches, and the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro Max is 6.7 inches. Note: there is no iPhone Mini. If you want to put it into perspective, the largest iPhone is bigger than a ballpoint pen or dollar bill. Thanks to the new screen size, you can enjoy more content when browsing the web, so you can literally see more text and have a larger display to watch your favourite shows.
We’ve all accidentally dropped our phone, picked it up and hoped for the best. With the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, you can worry no more, as it has state-of-the-art durability features. The ceramic shield front cover is tougher than any smartphone glass and protects against accidents with water and are dust resistance. Middle Easters, that means it can handle pool days and desert safaris.
What new features are on the iPhone 14?
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature the first-ever 48MP camera, an innovate way to receive notifications and cutting-edge safety features. The new critical safety features include Crash Detection and an Emergency SOS.
Crash Detection uses a high dynamic range gyroscope and dual-core accelerometer to detect a G-force of up to 256g. If you are in a severe car crash, the iPhone can automatically contact emergency services.
If you have a millennial’s worst nightmare – no cellular or WiFi coverage – your iPhone is there to help. So, even if you’re off the grid, the iPhone 14’s Emergency SOS is able to pick up satellite services and get emergency help.
This is the first iPhone without a physical SIM card, too. Frequent flyers, this means no awkwardly swapping SIM cards. It’s eSIMs all the way, so you can transfer your plan digitally and have multiple plans on one device.
Apple, we’re impressed.
