Ride the new Velocity Slide at World Trade Center
You can now experience the ultimate adrenaline rush at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi with the arrival of a brand-new indoor attraction, Velocity. The 68-meter and 54-meter-long slides are the first-of-its-kind installations in the region and the longest and tallest stainless-steel slides to be based in a mall. The slides allow thrill-seekers to travel from the third floor of the shopping mall to the ground floor at a sliding speed of two to three meters per second. Available daily from 10am. Dine at the new Japanese hotspot Otoro
Like Chef Akmal Anuar’s other concepts, the newly-opened Otoro is rooted in simple dishes made using high-quality ingredients. We’re told that fresh produce from various prefectures of Japan (Wagyu from Kagoshima, Otoro from Tokyo, and Uni from Hokkaido) has been key in the creation of its highly tantalising dishes. Highlights include the Yellow Tail Carpaccio, Wagyu Tempura, Shabu Shabu Burger, and Seabass Miso Yaki. As for some of the desserts to leave room for? It’s a toss-up between the Green Tea Tiramisu and Dark Chocolate tart with butterscotch. Otoro boasts views of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, while the venue’s aesthetics stay true to the earthiness and neutrality of contemporary Japanese design.
