Head to Al Maryah Island for a Pan-African dinner

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind culinary journey at GLO inside Rosewood Abu Dhabi, who are collaborating with celebrity Chef ‘Coco Reinarhz’ (the 2018 African chef of the year). Explore Chef Coco’s contemporary take on traditional African cuisine with a five-course dinner at Glo’s ‘Wood & Fire’ restaurant. Unleash your creativity at Qasr Al Watan

Qasr Al Watan, one of the only working palaces of its kind globally, will open its doors to UAE-based artists, allowing them to paint at the Palace of the Nation. To preserve and promote culture, artistry, and local talent, up-and-coming artists, are invited to participate in the two-hour workshop, unleash their creativity, and create their own Qasr Al Watan masterpieces. With the guidance of La PAROLE Art Gallery, participants will use their canvas, paint, and tools to channel inspiration from the traditional Arabian art and Islamic geometrical patterns found at the Palace. The package includes the entrance fee, souvenirs of the Palace’s design, the two-hour painting workshop and access to the spectacular evening entertainment, the Palace in Motion evening light and sound show.

Fly a kite on a desert island

The annual Kite Fest is back on Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island this weekend, encouraging families will make their own kites and then fly them from the island’s pristine beaches. The event includes complimentary snacks, music and entertainment for children, while prizes will be awarded for ‘Most Creative Kite’, ‘Largest Kite’ and’ Best Animal-Shaped Kite.’ being awarded. A camping package has also been created for adventure seekers who wish to extend their visit to a two-day experience. Arriving at Sir Bani Yas Island a day before the event, guests can enjoy a night of camping in the heart of the island’s wildlife park. Saturday 26 March, from 11:30am. AED 300 per adult and AED 150 per child, including boat transfer and island transportation. Camping packages are priced at AED 650 per adult and AED 325 per child.

Join Living Room Live at W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island

W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island will welcome guests to the first Living Room Live event in UAE this weekend. Amplifying the conversation around the purpose of Earth Hour and putting the spotlight on an incredible local artist for an intimate performance by the Abri. Feel the music begin as the lights turn off for Earth Hour, and only candles light up the room, making the hotel’s Living Room go live with Abri’s tunes. Following the performance, guests are invited to continue their evening at W Lounge with a complimentary beverage. Saturday 26 March, from 7:45pm to 9:30pm.

M1 Café & Lounge is now open to the public and presents visitors with three floors for varied dining experiences. M1’s café welcomes guests on level one of the outlet, while diners will find the main dining lounge on level two and an exclusive private members’ social club on level three. All-day dining takes place at the café, where an approachable menu features casual bites, while M1’s dining lounge opens for lunch and dinner with a unique yet familiar menu inviting guests to lounge, graze and relax. At the private members’ social club on level three, exquisite food and drinks will be served along with a VIP individualised service.

Ride the new Velocity Slide at World Trade Center

You can now experience the ultimate adrenaline rush at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi with the arrival of a brand-new indoor attraction, Velocity. The 68-meter and 54-meter-long slides are the first-of-its-kind installations in the region and the longest and tallest stainless-steel slides to be based in a mall. The slides allow thrill-seekers to travel from the third floor of the shopping mall to the ground floor at a sliding speed of two to three meters per second. Available daily from 10am. AED 15 (one slide) and AED 25 (two slides).
