Celebrity favourite Mr Chow is opening in DIFC

The restaurant takes over the space formally occupied by Indochine.

A-listers including Adele, Bella Hadid and Justin Bieber have been spotted at Mr Chow. With restaurants across America, from Beverly Hills to New York City, the celebrity hangout made its Middle East debut in Riyadh last month and will now open in Dubai.

The OG Mr Chow opened in London on Valentine’s Day in 1968, and customers have been falling for its authentic Beijing cuisine, especially the duck, ever since. Today, the restaurant can also be found in Miami, New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Riyadh. The clientele has included stars from the world of entertainment, music, sports, politics and fashion. The hip hangout attracted the likes of Jasper Johns, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol.

Mr Chow Dubai

Mr Chow Dubai will be located in the Dubai International Financial District (DIFC), taking over the space previously occupied by the Indochine. The opening has been created in partnership with Saudi hospitality firm, MJS Holding, which was founded by restauranteur Mohammed Jawa. It will mark the group’s first restaurant opening outside of the Kingdom.

Mr Chow has gained a reputation for its fine dining food and excellent service. The team aim to bring cinematic glamour to the city, as the décor will combine art and design. The Mr Chow Dubai menu will likely include all the Mr Chow signatures, such as the Chicken Satay, Green Prawns, Peking Duck and handmade noodles. Guests will also be able to watch the Insta-worthy hand-pulled noodle show.

The restaurant is expected to open in 2024.
