Ciel in Dubai: Everything you need to know about the world’s tallest hotel

The hotel includes an infinity pool, rooftop bar and spa with a view.

Dubai loves breaking world records. The city is home to the world’s tallest buildings, the world’s largest fountain and the world’s largest dancing fountains. So, it comes as no surprise to find that it will add another record to the list – the world’s tallest hotel, courtesy of Ciel.

Located in Dubai Marina, Ciel in Dubai is scheduled to open at the start of 2024. The First Group and NORR are behind the project, and the pair announced that the super structure is 99 per cent complete.

The hotel is home to 1,042 rooms including 150 suites. The restaurants include an all-day dining venue on the 13th floor, Sunset Lounge on the 74th floor, and a spa and health club on the 54th floor.

When completed, the 82-storey hotel will be a welcome additional the Dubai skyline. So far, the renders of Ciel in Dubai showcase a shiny, sleek architectural wonder. The cylinder-like shape soars into the sky, and at the top there is a rectangular gap.

Making the most of its height, Ciel in Dubai includes an observation deck with panoramic views, which include the Arabian Gulf, Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah. Plus, there will be a bar on the 76th floor, and an infinity pool on the 81st floor.

Ciel in Dubai will include state-of-the-art features – we’re talking a 300-metre-tall interior atrium, vertically stacked landscapes and naturally ventilated terraces. The space has been created to provide a communal area.

Rob Burns, CEO, The First Group, explained: “We are thrilled to bring Ciel to Dubai’s skyline, a ground-breaking project that will redefine upscale hospitality and showcase the best of what the city has to offer. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, we are making great progress and firmly on track to open the property officially in 2024.

The First Group has also shared the progress of the project, and we are excited to see the finished product. The installation of building façade brackets has reached the 72nd floor, and the curtain wall installation has reached the 70th floor. The convey system installation is 53 per cent complete, and the fixture of steel trusses in the atrium has been finished. The tiling is 66 per cent completion, and the installation of wall partitions and plastering is 97 per cent complete.
