DubaiThings to Do

October is upon us, and that means plenty of spooky surprises are in store for visitors to The Green Planet.

To celebrate Halloween, the indoor rainforest located in CityWalk is offering the bravest of visitors the opportunity to snorkel with piranhas! Teaming up with Al Boom Dive Center, The Green Planet have created the first experience of its kind in the region and a chance to swim with the freshwater inhabitants of South America’s rivers and their ‘man-eating’ reputation!

The Snorkel with the Piranhas encounter will take adventurers up close and personal with one of the rainforest’s most fascinating species. The experience costs AED 330, and guests will don a wet suit and go behind the scenes to the ‘meat kitchen’ while receiving a full brief from an expert biologist, followed by a back of house tour.

Adding to the thrill, the experience will take place during the daily piranha feeding frenzy from 4pm to 5pm. Snorkelers will feed and learn about multiple species, before taking the plunge, where they will witness over 1,000 of the notorious fish devour full chickens and turkeys, before being lowered into the tank! The once in a lifetime experience is open to anyone over the age of six and feels confident swimming.

Throughout October, The Green Planet has been transformed into a Haunted Rainforest, complete with spider webs, skeletons, tombstones and pumpkins galore. With fun for the whole family, little ones are invited to participate in spooky arts and crafts, haunted rainforest activity maps, and a range of games including hopscotch and pumpkin tic-tac-toe.

If you’d prefer to stay on dry land, The Green Planet After Dark experience takes place each Wednesday evening from 7pm to 9pm, allowing guests to visit the bio-domes nocturnal inhabitants. Get up close and personal with sloths, geckos and the slow loris during their most active time of the day.

As an added incentive to visit, children who arrive wearing animal-inspired costumes will immediately be entered in a draw to win a Zookeeper for a day experience!
