Legendary rock star Sting returns to Abu Dhabi for Saadiyat Nights

The British singer will perform on 3 February as part of Saadiyat Nights.

Abu Dhabi, this one’s for you. The legendary British singer, Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, is coming to the UAE capital – aka Sting is returning to the capital. Following his shows at Etihad Arena and Atlantis, The Palm’s New Year’s Eve celebrations last year, he’ll now be performing as part of Saadiyat Nights.

If you want to Sting in Abu Dhabi, the legendary rock star will take the stage on 3 February at Saadiyat Island so prepare yourself for a musical rollercoaster as he belts out timeless classics like Every Breath You Take and Fields of Gold, weaving in new hits that promise to captivate. From soulful ballads to energetic anthems, Sting’s repertoire guarantees a diverse and electrifying experience. Expect the iconic blend of rock, pop, and soul that has made him a living legend. With each note, he’ll transport you through the decades, leaving you with a symphony of memories.

Sting is no stranger to the UAE and has frequented the country often. he has won an impressive 17 Grammy Awards with The Police and as a solo artist, which included Song of the Year for Every Breath You Take. Plus, he has won three Brit Awards, which include Best British Male Artist and Outstanding Contribution, and has been nominated four times for the Academy Awards for Best Original Song. 

Sting hails from North Tyneside, England, and has had less rock n roll professions such as a labourer, bus conductor and tax collector. When the singer first started performing, he had a habit of wearing black and yellow striped jumpers, which earned him his nickname.

We’re hoping that when we see Sting in Abu Dhabi his performance will feature songs from his career, which spans five decades and includes Fields of Gold, Shape of My Heart, Roxanne, Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take and Message in a Bottle.

Saadiyat Nights is an outdoor musical extravaganza set against the picturesque backdrop of Saadiyat Island. The upcoming lineup is nothing short of sensational, featuring the iconic Mariah Carey on 6 January, Iranian vocalist Googoosh on 20 January, the opera singer Andrea Bocelli on 27 January, and the legendary Lebanese sensation Magida El Roumi on 10 February.
