Is PUMA X Nando’s the next adidas X Ravi collaboration?

How do you take yours? Mild, medium or hot? We are talking about Nando’s PERI-ometer. Now, the casual chicken chain is coming in extra hot with its Puma collaboration. The restaurant brand and sportswear company have joined forces, and created the stylish sneakers PUMA X Nando’s. Here’s how to get your feet on a pair. 

PUMA X Nando’s is hoping to create the next big restaurant and sportswear collaboration – remember adidas X Ravi, anyone? PUMA and Nando’s have reimagined the PUMA RS sneaker, which first launched in the 1980s. The RS-Xtra Hot intertwines PUMA’s style with the spirit of Nando’s, and has been created to celebrate South Africa’s Heritage Day.

The RS-Xtra Hot sneaker features Nando’s PERI-ometer on the side, and both brand’s logos – a chicken and puma – on the tongue. The black body includes a white bottom and red details. Plus, a brightly coloured lime green tongue.

In 1987, Nando’s started as a single restaurant in Rosettenville, South Africa. The restaurant is famous for its Portuguese PERi-PERi flame-grilled chicken, which has fans around the world. Today, it has more than 1,200 restaurants in 30 countries, which include Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE

This isn’t the first time a sportswear company has collaborated with a restaurant. The successful adidas X Ravi saw the world-famous brand shine a spotlight on Dubai’s homegrown Pakistani restaurant. The collection sold out and showed the power of creative collaborations.
