The theme is Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years.

The UAE has announced the theme for Emirati Women’s Day 2025. This year, Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, shared the theme: Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years. The day takes place annually on 28 August, and coincides with the founding of the General Women’s Union.

Emirati Women’s Day will celebrate five decades of Emirati women’s accomplishments, and explores the importance of community partnership in the country’s progress. This aims to reaffirm women’s role in society as an equal partner.

The theme also aligns with the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, which declared 2025 as the Year of Community. It underscores the country’s vision of strengthening national cohesion.

Mohamed bin Zayed shared: “I am pleased to announce 2025 as the Year of Community in the UAE. Hand in hand we will work to strengthen social bonds, foster shared responsibility, and unlock potential for inclusive and sustainable growth. To all those who call the UAE home, I encourage you to think ambitiously and act boldly in contributing towards improving your community and ensuring that our nation remains an inspiring model of progress and prosperity”.

Emirati Women’s Day falls on 28 August and shines a spotlight on the contributions of Emirati women. From politics and economics to science, arts, and culture, the day honours the Emirati women who displayed the utmost strength and resilience in shaping the history of the United Arab Emirates and inspiring the next generation of Emirati girls.
