Check out Abu Dhabi’s new desert dining pop-up

3Fils and BRIX are taking over Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara for the next three months.

Following its ranking as the number one restaurant in the Middle East and North Africa at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards, 3Fils and its sister restaurant BRIX Desserts will debut in Abu Dhabi with a three-month dining collaboration at the picturesque Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara

Located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, within the world’s largest sand desert, the pop-up event will take place in the resort’s Royal Pavilion, offering diners in the capital a chance to experience global flavours in the heart of Abu Dhabi’s Empty Quarter.

The luxurious Royal Pavilion pop-up has been designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, providing diners with breathtaking views of the desert dunes. The menu, curated by Chef Carmen Rueda, features dishes made with unusual ingredients designed to intrigue and inspire diners to expand their palate and try new flavours.

The 12-course pop-up menu, inspired by “Around the World” gastronomic experiences, takes guests on a culinary journey through different cuisines and is divided into three parts: “The Odyssey,” “The Expedition,” and “The Discovery,” each featuring four dishes.

The meal begins with a selection of Japanese high gastronomy, presented as a trio of small cold starters, including tuna potatoes, wagyu with ginger and smoked salt, and crispy tuna uni. This will be followed by a Thai soft-shell crab salad, a Chinese aromatic mushroom and herb soup, a Norwegian salmon carpaccio with yuzu pearls and sesame ponzu and a dish of scallop flower topped with a mango sphere.

Chef Carmen will also use the pop-up to showcase her renowned desserts, which include “Winter Cheesecake,” “Caviar Pearls” made with yuzu, lime, sesame and white truffle, as well as “Cocoa Bean Shell”, containing a light chocolate mousse, salted caramel and coffee flavoured “soil”.

The limited seating “Around the World” experiences will occur every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6pm, until the end of March 2023. The experience includes a 12-course degustation menu with paired beverages, priced at AED 900 per person.
