Calling all cinephiles. Filmhouse Singapore is throwing open its doors for a month-long housewarming celebration, bringing together cinema, live music, markets and community-led events under one roof. Running from Thursday, 30 April to Saturday, 30 May 2026, the programme marks the next chapter for the independent cinema, which soft-launched three months ago.
Located inside Golden Mile Tower, Filmhouse has quickly positioned itself as a creative gathering space for film lovers, music fans and Singapore’s wider arts community. Now, the venue is ready to celebrate properly, welcoming guests back with a refreshed look and a packed calendar of events.
The upgraded space includes new bean bags, sofas, round seats and lamps, creating a more relaxed setting for screenings and late-night sessions. Sleek bar counters and metal tables add to the atmosphere, giving Filmhouse the feel of a neighbourhood hangout, listening lounge and independent cinema rolled into one.
For its housewarming programme, Filmhouse will focus on the theme of ‘Music in Film’, exploring the emotional and cultural power of soundtracks, scores and musical storytelling on the big screen. The film line-up is expected to include a mix of cult favourites and crowd-pleasers, including Whiplash, La La Land, Empire Records and Moonwalker.
Music will remain at the heart of the celebration. Guests can look forward to Sing Song Social Club: The Michael Edition, a Michael Jackson sing-along that promises plenty of nostalgia, alongside live R&B sets from Tim De Cotta and The Warriors. The programme will also feature an R&B Fusion Community Live Music Jam, giving audiences the chance to experience Singapore’s local music scene in an intimate setting.
Elsewhere, the month-long schedule will include a film quiz night, experimental art and music performances, and the launch of Kopistan, complete with live acts and merchandise. On 23 May 2026, Bizarro Bazaar will host its first music marketplace at Filmhouse, bringing together records, CDs, cassettes and more for collectors and casual crate-diggers alike.
Late-night concerts with local bands and DJs will round out the programme, turning Filmhouse into a lively after-dark destination. With more details set to be announced soon, this housewarming looks set to offer far more than a standard screening schedule.
