The sustainable light art festival returns from 5 to 28 June with interactive installations, immersive design, food vendors and the return of GastroBeats.
i Light Singapore 2026 is set to brighten the city once again, turning Marina Bay and parts of Singapore’s city centre into a walkable outdoor gallery of light, sound and creativity. Running from 5 to 28 June 2026, the festival brings together interactive installations, sustainability-led design, public programmes and after-dark entertainment across some of the city’s most recognisable landmarks.
Organised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority and presented by UOB, i Light Singapore has grown into one of Asia’s leading sustainable light art festivals. The annual event attracts local and international artists, while encouraging visitors to see Singapore’s public spaces in a new way. This year, the installations will be spread across Marina Bay and Raffles Place, allowing visitors to explore the city on foot against the dramatic backdrop of Singapore’s skyline.

The 2026 edition is centred around the theme of Movement. The concept looks at how motion shapes the world around us, from natural rhythms to human interaction. Many of the artworks have been designed to respond to visitors, meaning that a simple action, such as walking past, touching a surface, or engaging with a structure, can trigger shifts in light, sound, and visual patterns.
This year’s festival features 14 installations by 17 artists from Singapore and around the world. Among the key highlights is WAVE by Masamichi Shimada, an interactive work inspired by raindrops hitting water. Visitors can tap rods on the ground to create ripples of light and sound, turning a simple gesture into a shared sensory experience.

New for this year is i Light Future, a mentorship programme supported by the DesignSingapore Council. The initiative gives emerging designers and students the chance to develop large-scale public installations, supporting the next generation of creative talent while strengthening the festival’s focus on design, sustainability and innovation.
GastroBeats will also return to Bayfront Event Space, bringing a lively social element to the festival. The food and entertainment zone will feature up to 40 food vendors, live music, arcade games and activity areas, including pickleball. It offers visitors a place to dine, unwind and continue the evening after exploring the light trail.

By combining art, sustainability, and urban interaction, i Light Singapore 2026 encourages audiences to reflect on how small actions can create broader environmental and social impact. With its glowing installations and citywide energy, the festival continues to cement Singapore’s position as a leader in public art and immersive cultural experiences.
