The new concept at Clarke Quay and The Star Vista gives music lovers the chance to borrow records, take them home, and enjoy vinyl in a more personal way.

Singapore’s music scene continues to evolve, offering everything from intimate jazz bars and live performance venues to independent record stores and specialist listening spaces. Now, music lovers in the Lion City have another reason to get excited, as Swee Lee Vinyl Library is a newly introduced concept that puts vinyl culture firmly in the spotlight.

The Swee Lee Vinyl Library has launched across the brand’s Singapore branches at Clarke Quay and The Star Vista, introducing what is described as the country’s first vinyl lending library. The initiative also marks a fresh chapter for record collectors and casual listeners alike, shifting the experience beyond simply browsing or buying in-store.

Instead of committing to a purchase straight away, members can now borrow records and enjoy them at home on their own turntables. It is a move that brings a more relaxed, accessible approach to vinyl, allowing listeners to spend time with an album in their own space and at their own pace.

Access to the library is available through membership plans on the free VMI Connect app. Once signed up, members can borrow up to three vinyl records at a time. In a welcome twist, there is no fixed loan period and no late fees, making the experience feel far more flexible than a traditional lending setup.

The catalogue spans a wide range of genres, catering to different tastes and moods. Expect everything from pop, rock, and jazz to blues, soul, electronic sounds, and world music. Whether you are rediscovering a classic album or trying something entirely new, the library has been designed to encourage deeper exploration.

For those who prefer to sample before taking a record home, the in-store listening stations add another layer to the experience. Members receive up to 12 hours of listening-station access each month from the Swee Lee Vinyl Library, providing a convenient way to preview albums before borrowing them.

For those unfamiliar with the brand, Swee Lee has long been a go-to name in Singapore and across Southeast Asia for musical instruments, audio gear, and accessories. Over the years, it has grown into more than just a retail destination, building a reputation as a community hub through workshops, live events, and music-led experiences.
