Bringing Catalan flair and colourful interiors to Telok Ayer, Amor adds a fresh new address for Spanish dining in Singapore.
Singapore’s dining scene has welcomed a new Spanish restaurant with plenty of personality. Set along the ever-buzzy Amoy Street in Telok Ayer, Amor draws inspiration from the world of Antoni Gaudí, pairing expressive interiors with a menu rooted in classic Spanish cooking. The result is a venue that feels both transportive and approachable, whether you are stopping by for a weekday lunch or settling in for a long evening meal.
Amor is the brainchild of two hospitality veterans: Head Chef Yu Wang Leung and hospitality leader Azad Sharma. The duo first crossed paths while working at Olivia and Noa Lounge by Olivia, and their latest venture reflects a shared passion for convivial dining and bold Mediterranean flavours. With Amor, they have created a concept that aims to stand apart in one of Singapore’s most competitive food neighbourhoods.

Located in the same stretch as Kulto, the only other Spanish bistro on Amoy Street, Amor offers a more energetic, design-led take on the cuisine. It is pitched as a space that works equally well for after-work catch-ups, date nights and leisurely meals with friends. Part of its appeal lies in its accessibility too. The restaurant’s S$38 set lunch offers strong value, featuring four tapas, a main course and a dessert, making it an attractive option for the office crowd in the CBD.
The menu balances familiar Spanish staples with more contemporary touches. Expect dishes such as jamón Ibérico croquettes, gambas and wagyu short ribs alongside richer signatures, including Lobster Arroz Meloso. There is also a playful side to the cooking, seen in dishes like the Happy Eggggg, which combines pumpkin purée, truffle sabayon, a 65°C onsen egg, crispy jamón chips and brown butter sourdough croutons. Elsewhere, Barbecued Oysters are elevated with a savoury escabeche sauce, while desserts range from Bombas to a Hazelnut Almond Lava Cake served with coconut ice cream.

Design is central to the Amor experience. Guests are greeted by a striking mosaic sliding door, while inside, bold backsplashes and a trencadís mosaic bar channel the bright colours and fluid forms associated with Catalan design. The aesthetic nods to Gaudí without feeling overly literal, giving the restaurant a sense of vibrancy that mirrors the energy of its menu.
For those seeking a new Spanish address in Singapore, Amor arrives with all the right ingredients: a prime location, spirited interiors and a menu that moves comfortably between comfort and creativity.
