• The Singaporean art and lifestyle brand debuts its first exhibition at ION Art Gallery.

  • Titled “Spirits of Vessels, Philosophy of Senses,” the exhibition showcases both curated artworks alongside the brand's debut collections.

  • Admission to the exhibition is free.

The homegrown art and lifestyle brand’s inaugural showcase brings new perspectives and appreciation of everyday objects by engaging the senses.

Living an artful life is the ethos behind the first-ever exhibition by NICEDAY — a Singaporean brand crafting ceramics and fragrances inspired by art in its various mediums from the contemporary and ancient world. Titled Spirits of Vessels, Philosophy of Senses, this debut at ION Art Gallery posits its audience to live the tangible present, observe the finest details in the world we engage in, and form connections on how culture informs design.

Layered in four phases, the exhibition features a curated arrangement of Eastern and Western artefacts, and the global unveiling of NICEDAY’s ceramics and fragrance collection. This guided walkthrough also offers the visitor a deeper look into the origins of the objects’ creation on a sensorial journey through sight, touch, sound, and smell.

Starting with Texture, NICEDAY honours the source of sculptural beauty by spotlighting the raw materials that compose them. Here, handmade materials, kiln tools, stone, and wood draw attention to the fundamental building blocks and their importance.

Next, visitors are offered insight into the monumental works from masters of the past, including Lucie Rie and Hans Coper — two potters who revolutionised British ceramic art and traditions following their escape to Britain in the 1930s. Their lasting legacy continues to influence modern artists today, and echoes NICEDAY’s philosophy on living.

And at the centre of the exhibition is the showcase of NICEDAY’s ceramics collection debut. Created from what the brand calls Future Aesthetic, pottery works on display are at once reimagined from Neolithic vessels, inferred from written works by Qing Dynasty poets, and pay homage to famed architect Zaha Hadid. Selected pieces in Singapore-exclusive colourways here are also available for visitors to purchase.

Lastly, concluding the journey is the debut of NICEDAY’s scent collection, tapping on the keenest sense that evokes memories — smell. Candles coined Saint Tropez, Golden Era, and Pine Pause, are housed in ceramic jars and formulated to leave lasting impressions at the exhibition’s end.

Admission to the Spirits of Vessels, Philosophy of Senses exhibition by NICEDAY is free.
