The Chinatown venue returns with Art Deco interiors, Chinese-inspired small plates, creative cocktails and a programme of live entertainment.

Lulu’s Lounge Singapore is making a comeback. After closing during the pandemic, the nightlife favourite will return this June with a new home, a new look and a more immersive approach to evenings out in the city.

Located at 208 South Bridge Road in Chinatown, the revived venue takes over a heritage shophouse and reintroduces Lulu’s with a 1930s Shanghai-inspired identity. Originally launched in 2017 by Joshua and Sarisa Schwartz, Lulu’s Lounge became one of Singapore’s most talked-about late-night destinations, known for its glamorous interiors, playful performances and party spirit.

The original concept followed the fictional story of Lulu, a Bronx-born girl who opened her own nightlife venue. Its previous design leaned into 1960s New York energy, complete with burlesque-inspired shows, live music and late-night revelry. This new chapter shifts the narrative east, drawing inspiration from 1930s Shanghai, often referred to as the “Paris of the East.”

Inside, Lulu’s Lounge Singapore will channel old-world supper club glamour through Art Deco details, velvet seating, crimson tones, neon accents and a baby grand piano that forms a central part of the room. The result is designed to feel cinematic and atmospheric, creating a space where dining, drinks and performance unfold together.

Food will play a larger role in the new Lulu’s experience. The menu focuses on elevated Chinese-inspired small plates and late-night dining, with dishes designed for sharing. Highlights include Hong Kong-style prawn toast, duck pancakes, crispy-skin chicken, mala grilled fish skewers and caviar. The approach places Lulu’s within Singapore’s growing luxury nightlife dining scene, where supper club culture continues to gain momentum.

The cocktail programme also draws from regional flavours. Classic serves are reworked with ingredients such as baijiu, jasmine tea-infused vermouth, osmanthus wine, Buddha’s hand citrus, salted lemon and dark soy sauce. The drinks are designed to complement the food, while adding a distinctive sense of place to the bar offering.

Entertainment remains central to the Lulu’s Lounge identity. The venue will host live jazz, cabaret, drag performances, burlesque and DJs throughout the week, alongside themed nights including Cafe Bizarre. With Chinatown fast becoming one of Singapore’s most exciting late-night neighbourhoods, Lulu’s return brings another reason to linger after dark.
