Singapore’s cocktail scene continues to grow with the launch of Shards, a new cocktail bar by White Shades located on Level 3 of its heritage shophouse at 25 Boon Tat Street in Telok Ayer. Replacing the former private event space, Shards offers a relaxed alternative to the polished cocktail bars found across Singapore’s Central Business District, serving inventive cocktails in a warm, welcoming setting.
Designed to feel like a friend’s living room, the Telok Ayer cocktail bar features cosy interiors, an intimate atmosphere, a minimalist white bar counter, and a colour-changing skylight that transforms the mood throughout the evening. An adjoining private room has also been converted into a casual karaoke lounge, making it an ideal venue for birthdays, celebrations, and group gatherings.
The concept draws inspiration from the Japanese art of kintsugi, embracing transformation and imperfection. This philosophy is reflected throughout the space, from glassware repurposed from White Shades’ former Kaku concept to handcrafted cocktail menus with hand-burnt edges.
The cocktail menu features 10 signature drinks that highlight tea, savoury flavours, smoke, and unexpected ingredients. Signature creations include Bright Rupture and Crystallised Honey, while guests can also enjoy bespoke cocktails tailored to their preferences for S$25.
