The Australian wellness concept is making its international debut in Singapore, introducing a social, design-led space centred on bathing rituals, mindful movement and meaningful connection.
Singapore’s wellness scene continues to evolve, with a growing appetite for spaces that encourage guests to slow down and switch off. From luxury hotel spas to specialist studios, the city has embraced self-care in many forms. Yet while private treatments and one-to-one therapies remain widely available, there has been less focus on shared wellness experiences that bring people together. That is where Capybara Bathing in Singapore enters the conversation.
Already something of a cult favourite in Australia, Capybara Bathing is set to open its first international outpost in Singapore. The concept will make its home on Tras Street in Tanjong Pagar, occupying a heritage shophouse and introducing a fresh perspective on modern wellness. Spanning approximately 3,000 square feet, the venue has been designed as a place where restoration and connection go hand in hand.
Inside, natural materials, muted tones, and soft lighting create an atmosphere that immediately slows the pace, while a skylight draws in natural daylight and enhances the sense of openness. As the day progresses, the mood shifts with the light, giving the venue a dynamic yet soothing quality. Inspired by bathing traditions from around the world, the design pairs timeless rituals with a distinctly modern aesthetic. Capacity is also carefully controlled, ensuring that the communal format still feels intimate rather than overcrowded.
At the heart of the experience is a sequence of temperature-led rituals designed to be enjoyed in stages. Guests can begin with a mineral-infused thermal bath before moving into the invigorating cold plunge. There is also a traditional hot stone sauna, where cedar-scented air deepens the sensory experience, as well as a hammam-inspired steam room for those seeking a gentler form of heat. When it is time to slow down, the heated lounge offers space to rest, stretch, sip tea or try an ice scrub.

Capybara Bathing in Singapore will also host guided meditation sessions, sound rituals and movement classes led by local practitioners, creating a programme that feels rooted in the city’s creative and wellness communities. It also positions itself as a cultural hub, with collaborations featuring Singapore-based designers, ceramicists and other creatives.
Whether visiting solo for a quiet reset or arriving with friends, Capybara Bathing promises a more social, intentional and design-forward take on wellness in Singapore.
