The long-discussed Nintendo attraction is part of Resorts World Sentosa’s expansion plans.
Singapore is already home to a variety of blockbuster attractions, but one of its most talked-about future additions is still waiting in the wings. First announced in 2019, Super Nintendo World is set to join the wider Resorts World Sentosa expansion, which also includes new hotel developments, entertainment offerings and major updates to Universal Studios Singapore. The project has been on the radar for years, and while progress across the broader Resorts World Sentosa 2.0 transformation is now visible, Nintendo’s highly anticipated themed land remains one of its biggest future draws.
One thing worth clarifying straight away is the name. While it is often referred to as “Super Mario World Singapore”, the official project title is Super Nintendo World, because the concept is bigger than one franchise. According to Resorts World Sentosa’s original announcement, the land will bring Nintendo’s characters, action and adventure to life through a highly themed environment, complete with attractions, shops and restaurants.
Resorts World Sentosa has yet to announce a full lineup of attractions, but the existing Super Nintendo World parks in Los Angeles, Orlando and Tokyo offer a strong indication of what fans can expect. Other versions feature signature experiences such as Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Yoshi’s Adventure, interactive gameplay elements, themed dining and dedicated merchandise stores. None of that is officially confirmed for Singapore yet, but it is reasonable to view those elements as the blueprint the local version could follow.
The biggest question, of course, is when it will open. At present, Resorts World Sentosa has not publicly confirmed an opening date. What has been confirmed is that the wider Resorts World Sentosa 2.0 rollout is progressing in phases. Genting Singapore stated that these projects would begin to unveil in early 2025, and Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore officially opened in February 2025. Universal also said in December 2024 that Super Nintendo World remains a global project with plans to expand to Singapore after Orlando.

Whenever the Mushroom Kingdom does arrive, Super Nintendo World is likely to become one of Singapore’s most in-demand family attractions. Tied to one of gaming’s most recognisable universes, it has the ingredients to reshape the next chapter of Universal Studios Singapore.
