The immersive concept places audiences inside the story through virtual reality, sensory effects and branching narratives.
Singapore has long positioned itself at the intersection of entertainment, innovation and technology. From immersive exhibitions to next-generation attractions, the city continues to embrace experiences that push beyond the conventional. Next on the horizon is HavenXR, a concept that promises to blur the line between cinema, gaming and virtual reality in Singapore.
Expected to launch in Singapore soon, HavenXR is being developed through a collaboration between Haven XR Holdings and Sim Leisure Group. Rather than inviting guests to sit back and watch a film unfold from a fixed seat, the attraction is designed to place them directly inside the action. Using Location-Based Virtual Reality, or LBVR, visitors step into a physical venue and enter a digitally created world through VR headsets and immersive environmental effects.
That shift is what sets HavenXR apart from a traditional cinema experience. Instead of remaining passive viewers, guests become active participants in the story. The format allows users to engage with a narrative as it unfolds, making decisions that can shape the direction of the experience in a way that feels closer to a “choose-your-own-adventure” than a standard screening.

Sessions are expected to run for around 20 to 30 minutes, with small groups of approximately four people entering each experience at a time. The intimate format is likely to make each adventure feel more collaborative and more intense, particularly as the attraction is set to include layered sensory effects, such as sound, wind, and potentially scent, to heighten realism.
Among the first titles expected to debut in Singapore is The Keeper, a horror-led experience. Beyond that, HavenXR is also expected to introduce a broader range of content, including family-friendly adventures, suggesting an offering designed to appeal to more than just thrill seekers.

The arrival of HavenXR in Singapore reflects a wider shift in how audiences want to consume entertainment. As viewers increasingly seek experiences that are participatory, social and immersive, concepts like this could signal a new chapter for film-based attractions. In a city that has built a reputation for embracing the future, HavenXR feels like a natural fit.
