The rapidly expanding dessert chain is settling its roots in Singapore with its first outpost outside China this July.

Hailing from Changsha, the capital city of Hunan province, Yi Man Fen Dessert is set to open its first international outpost in Singapore this July. Since its launch in 2024, the cult favourite dessert chain serving contemporary takes on the traditional tong sui has over 90 outlets across China and a strong following amongst the country’s crowd.

Early mentions of tong sui — a Chinese sweet soup — first originated centuries ago from the Zhou Dynasty, in records as nourishing herbal broths meant to be consumed at the end of indulgent meals for their wellness and beauty benefits. Brewed with ingredients present in Traditional Chinese Medicine, modern interpretations of the dessert also incorporate cold versions, fruits, and sweets popularised by Western confectionary.
