When it comes to world-class live music, the capital continues to set the tone. Next year, the Abu Dhabi will welcome Croatian cello sensation Hauser for a one-night-only performance at Etihad Arena on Yas Island. Taking place on 2 May, the concert forms part of Abu Dhabi Festival, presented in partnership with Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation, Live Nation Middle East, Miral, and FACT Magazine as official media partner.
Hauser first rose to global fame with his powerful rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal,” a performance that catapulted him from classically trained musician to crossover star. Since then, he has toured the world, selling more than one million tickets and performing at some of the most iconic venues on the planet, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House, and Madison Square Garden in New York. His solo album Classic debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, cementing his status as a modern classical superstar.
Beyond the stage, Hauser has performed for Pope Francis, American presidents and members of the British Royal Family. His impressive list of collaborators includes Andrea Bocelli, Red Hot Chili Peppers, George Michael and Steven Tyler, showcasing a rare versatility that bridges classical, pop and rock.
The Abu Dhabi concert will spotlight his latest album, Cinema, a tribute to some of the greatest film scores ever composed. Audiences can look forward to an evening of movie melodies reimagined for the cello, with arrangements designed to stir emotion, spark nostalgia and deliver more than a few goosebumps as Hauser brings these soundtracks to life in the capital.
With Abu Dhabi Festival expected to reveal more headline acts soon, Hauser’s appearance sets a strong precedent for a standout edition.
Ticket pre-sales to watch Hauser live in Abu Dhabi begin on 12 December at 12pm, followed by the general on-sale on 15 December at 12pm.
