Discover the influence of Islamic art on Cartier at Louvre Abu Dhabi
The exhibition runs until 24 March 2024.
Make your way to Louvre Abu Dhabi because a new exhibition has just been unveiled. Called ‘Cartier, Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design’, this exhibition will take you on a journey through the ages, where the magic of Islamic inspiration collides with the chic creativity of the luxury jewellery brand, Cartier.
With over 400 objects from various collections, you will get a chance to trace the evolution of Cartier’s designs. From masterpieces of Islamic art to jewellery, drawings, design sketches, miniatures, textiles, photographs, and archival material, this exhibition promises a comprehensive view of the brand’s inspirations. Notable artefacts include a Dish with a blue Saz leaf from Turkey, a Vanity case inspired by Iznik ceramics from Cartier Paris and a wooden Carved ivory panel from Cairo.
But this exhibition goes beyond traditional displays. You get to enter a digital space where Cartier’s iconic pieces come to life through animations. Immerse yourself in “infinity rooms” with mind-bending 180-degree visual displays.
And because Louvre Abu Dhabi knows how to throw a cultural bash, they’ve got a whole program lined up for you. We’re talking panel discussions, film screenings, guided tours and masterclasses.
‘Cartier, Islamic Inspiration and Modern Design’ promises to be more than an exhibition. It explores the interconnectedness of cultures and the influence of Islamic art on one of the world’s most iconic jewellery houses.
So hurry up and dive into the convergence of tradition and modernity, and witness Cartier’s journey from old-school charm to contemporary glam. This exhibition runs until 24 March 2024.
