Roald Dahl’s beloved tale heads to Etihad Arena on Yas Island from 28 August to 6 September 2026.


Roald Dahl’s scrumdiddlyumptious world is heading to the UAE capital as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory makes its Abu Dhabi debut at Etihad Arena, Yas Island, running from 28 August to 6 September 2026.

Based on Dahl’s globally adored novel, the story follows young Charlie Bucket after he wins a coveted golden ticket to step inside Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory. Expect a high-energy production filled with immersive visuals, mischievous Oompa-Loompas, eye-catching stagecraft, and a score that blends nostalgia with new musical magic. Iconic songs from the classic 1971 film, including “Pure Imagination,” “The Candy Man,” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” feature alongside original music by Grammy and Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray, Mary Poppins Returns).

The Broadway production premiered in 2017, ran for more than 300 performances, and later toured North America through 2022. The musical also enjoyed a successful West End run, where it received two Olivier Awards, before launching its current global tour across Asia, the Middle East and India.

Tickets to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in Abu Dhabi go on sale on 26 January 2026, with prices starting from AED 130 via platinumlist.net.
