The music legend will be performing at Etihad Arena for a one-night spectacular.
A. R. Rahman is heading back to Abu Dhabi with a blockbuster concert at Etihad Arena on Friday, 23 January 2026. The show is billed by the venue as AR Rahman Live, and promises a widescreen production that channels the spirit of his Wonderment Tour, where tradition meets cutting-edge visuals and orchestration. Tickets are now on sale, with seat categories ranging from Regular to Royal Plus.
Expect a journey through a catalogue that has shaped modern film music. Setlists from Rahman’s recent touring have balanced crowd-pleasers with deep cuts, so you might hear anthems such as “Jai Ho,” “Chaiyya Chaiyya,” “Kun Faya Kun,” and “Vande Mataram,” delivered with the cinematic scale that made him a two-time Academy Award and two-time Grammy winner, alongside a Golden Globe and a BAFTA.
Born A. S. Dileep Kumar in Chennai, Rahman began playing piano at four and was immersed in studios from a young age before making a sensational film-music debut with Roja in 1992. What followed was a run of era-defining scores for films including Rangeela, Dil Se…, Taal, and Lagaan, cementing his reputation as the “Mozart of Madras.”
The UAE has long been a second stage for the maestro. He headlined Etihad Arena on 2 November 2024, joined and mentored the all-women Firdaus Orchestra at Expo 2020 Dubai, and helped mark the UAE’s 52nd National Day in Abu Dhabi with a stirring musical tribute.
