Mark your calendars for the return of Yas Gaming Festival

Two weeks’ worth of gaming action will kick off in the capital on Wednesday, 30 August.

Calling all gamers — and all parents with bored kids, for that matter. Yas Gaming Festival is set to return for the fourth year, bringing with it an adrenaline-fuelled spectacle of the latest game showcases, racing simulators, retro games, and cutting-edge virtual reality games. The annual gaming event will take place at Town Square, the heart of Yas Mall, from 30 August to 12 September.

Available free of charge for guests of all ages, the gaming extravaganza will feature dedicated PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch stations as well as an exciting Formula 1 Simulator. And for the first time in Yas Gaming Festival’s history, a one-of-a-kind BFG room will allow players to experience gaming on a whole new level. Heart-pounding action and epic battles are anticipated as visitors will have the chance to participate in both the Fortnite and FIFA 23 Tournaments, as well as the Cosplay Competition, with amazing prizes up for grabs.

Gamers can showcase their skills and stake their claim amongst the region’s finest players on 1 and 2 September — both tournaments will commence at 6pm, with registration opening between 2pm and 5pm each day. Both games will host 40 exceptional players each, all demonstrating their prowess on the PlayStation. The prize pool for the tournaments promises to be a bounty that befits the grandeur of the Yas Gaming Festival, including gift cards sponsored by Abu Dhabi Retail, Yas Bay F&B vouchers, and Darna Rewards points by Aldar.

Cosplayers, meanwhile, will want to take note of the Cosplay Competition on 9 September — fans can dress up and catch some of their favourite characters. Participants can showcase design craftsmanship, attention to detail in choosing the right accessories and props, as well as put on a show-stopping performance. The Gaming4Good tournament also returns in 2023, giving attendees a chance to pair up with their favourite influencer and donate to a good cause: Emirates Autism Centre.
