Peggy Gou is bringing a Masquerave to Louvre Abu Dhabi

The trailblazing DJ’s show will take place beneath the museum’s iconic dome.

Music and art combine as the DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer Peggy Gou has announced that she is performing at Louvre Abu Dhabi. The special show is part of the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Masquerave festival and will take place on Saturday, 27 April.

Peggy Gou is from Incheon, South Korea. As a child, she began classical piano lessons. She was taught to DJ by a friend and started her career in East London. Her hit songs include 1+1=11,  (It Goes Like) Nanana, Starry Night, and I Believe in Love Again, a collaboration with Lenny KravitzPlus, she launched her own fashion label, Kirin, and record label, Ninja Tune and Phonica.

The concert was announced on her official Instagram account, which currently boasts 4.1 million followers.

But what is a Masquerave? Revellers at Louvre Abu Dhabi will party beneath the Louvre’s iconic dome while donning a mask inspired by the museum’s latest exhibition, “From Kalila Wa Dimna to La Fontaine: Travelling through Fables.” Whether you’re in the mood for mischief and playfulness like The Monkey, astuteness and cunning like The Fox, or the aura of wisdom and mystery that The Owl embodies, choose your disguise and dance the night away.

Peggy has performed in the Middle East many times before. She played at AZIMUTH in AlUla in September 2023 and at Soho Garden Palm Jumeirah in Dubai in December. This will be her first time performing at The Louvre.

Located in the cultural district on Saadiyat Island, the Louvre Abu Dhabi takes a different museographic approach and displays its pieces chronologically. More than just a museum, the building itself is an attraction. Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean Nouvel, its latticed dome creates the striking ‘rain of light’ effect while the flooded sea walls add to the ambience of this artistic marvel.

The stars keep on coming to the UAE. Other concerts include Black Coffee on 20 April, Jason Derulo on 4 May, and Martin Garrix on 11 May.

If you want to catch Peggy Gou in Abu Dhabi, tickets are now on sale for the event. Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Masquerave takes place on Saturday, 27 April. Tickets start from AED 345 and are available via Platinumlist.
