Enjoy the Max Richter show under the stars.
Abu Dhabi’s spectacular open-air concert series, Saadiyat Nights, will welcome one of the most celebrated and influential composers of our time, Max Richter. The performance takes place on 29 January 2026, and promises a memorable evening where classical music meets cutting-edge technology – all beneath the night sky.
Born in Germany and raised in the United Kingdom, Richter studied music at the University of Edinburgh and the Royal Academy of Music. Over the past two decades, he has redefined contemporary orchestral music. His music blends acoustic and electronic elements to create deeply emotional, thought-provoking works. His compositions have inspired a generation of artists and captivated audiences across the globe.
Richter’s repertoire spans ballet, film, theatre and opera, encompassing genre-defining solo albums and award-winning scores for dance, art and fashion. In 2021, he was nominated for a Grammy Award, further cementing his reputation as one of the world’s leading composers.
At Saadiyat Nights, Richter will perform selections from across his acclaimed catalogue. The highlights come from Illuminated Horizons and In A Landscape. The latter was written and recorded at his eco-conscious Studio Richter Mahr in Oxfordshire. The work explores the themes of harmony, reflection and connection.
Saadiyat Nights continues with an exceptional international line-up. The list includes Ludovico Einaudi on 10 January, Lewis Capaldi on 17 January, John Mayer on 24 January, Ricky Martin on 31 January, Mariah Carey on 7 February, and Bryan Adams on 11 February.
