ADRIFT Burger Bar is opening in Yas Mall

Expect juicy burgers for your dining pleasure.

Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall has seen a resurgence of culinary concepts in recent weeks with the arrival of Boo Burger, Joe and The Juice, and Sticky Rice. But in a city where more is more, we now have another reason to visit the biggest mall in the capital, and it involves a celebrity chef.

Having found success at Expo 2020 Dubai (where an impressive 115,000 burgers were served), ADRIFT Burger Bar from acclaimed chef David Myers will open a permanent location on the mall’s first floor on Tuesday, 2 May.

The casual concept hails from California and serves a fuss-free menu of Myers’ celebrated burgers, available in single, double, triple, or plant-based options.

Affectionately referred to as the Gypsy Chef due to his love of food and travel, David Myers grew up in a household surrounded by seasonal ingredients and home-cooked food. His mother’s burger recipe from the 1940s was a favourite of his, which he later adapted for his West LA bistro in the late 2000s. The burger quickly became a sensation and gained national recognition, with The New York Times referring to it as “The Perfect Burger.”

As David expanded his restaurant business globally, the burger became a signature item on his menus in Dubai, Singapore and Tokyo. In 2020, during the peak of the global pandemic, David launched ADRIFT Burger Bar in his hometown of Venice Beach, California.

Menu highlights include The DM Burger (lettuce, onion, secret sauce, aged Vermont cheddar, brioche bun), 1940s Classic Burger (tomato, pickle, onion, lettuce, mustard, house sauce, American cheese, potato roll), Adrift Burger (Gruyere, Parmesan, arugula, pickled jalapeño, tomato ajwan-jam, herbed aioli, brioche bun), Good Morning Burger (Arugula, herbed aioli, tomato ajwan jam, egg, gruyere, brioche bun), Curry Leaf Fries, Fried Button Mushrooms and Truffle Chips.

Those with a sweet tooth will appreciate the Insta-worthy shakes, offered in three appealing flavours combinations: Strawberry and Vanilla, Matcha and White Chocolate, and Chocolate and Miso Caramel.

The new restaurant marks David Myers’ return to the UAE, where he launched three signature concepts in 2017 at what was the Renaissance Hotel in Business Bay.

Following the Abu Dhabi launch, ADRIFT Burger Bar will open in Kuwait.
