The team behind the Abu Dhabi concept store LOCAL is preparing to open Blue, a restaurant that brings a considered approach to casual fine dining on Mamsha Beach, Saadiyat Island. Building on LOCAL’s reputation for community-led hospitality, the venue trades big city energy for a calmer coastal rhythm, with food that focuses on freshness, simplicity and technique.
At the helm is Blue Restaurant in Abu Dhabi Head Chef Noah Muscat, whose menu is guided by seasonality and shaped by Nordic-inspired methods of preparation, including preserving and pickling. The result is a selection that feels approachable while still delivering the detail and restraint you would expect from a kitchen that prioritises produce.

Blue’s offering centres around sharing plates, balancing smaller bites with more substantial mains. Expect dishes such as Beef Tartare and Hamachi alongside heartier options, including a Kofta Sandwich, Lobster, Cod and Grilled Wagyu Flank. Desserts keep the same produce-led spirit, with choices that include a Plum Tart, Tomato Strawberry Ice Cream and an Elderflower Flan, plus a selection of rotating sweets aligned with seasonality.
Drinks have been crafted with equal intent. Blue serves a focused list of natural wines, seasonal cocktails and a thoughtful range of non-alcoholic options, all chosen to complement the menu’s lighter, ingredient-forward style.
Seasonality is built into the restaurant’s supply chain. Blue draws from its own Abu Dhabi farm, where ingredients such as cucumbers, figs, citrus, and dates are grown. As the months change, different herbs and vegetables are planted, ensuring the menu continues to reflect what the land is offering right now.
Seating is split between a garden overlooking the sea and a kitchen counter that puts guests close to the action, with chefs cooking over an open fire for a more immersive experience.
Bookings for Blue Restaurant in Abu Dhabi are now live, with tables available from 10 February.
