The influential New York-born restaurant will bring contemporary Asian dining to the capital in 2026.

The capital’s dining scene is getting another major international name. David Chang’s Momofuku is set to open in Abu Dhabi in Q3 2026. The Asian-American restaurant will be located at Saadiyat Grove, adding another high-profile dining address to one of the region’s most ambitious lifestyle destinations. The opening comes from Anthem Hospitality Group, which recently brought Barrafina from London to Dubai, in collaboration with the China Palace Group.

For those unfamiliar with the name, Momofuku is one of the most talked-about restaurants to come out of New York. Chef David Chang launched Momofuku Noodle Bar in 2004, and the brand went on to reshape contemporary Asian-American dining with its mix of ramen, buns, seasonal dishes, counter culture, and big-flavour cooking.

His bestselling books include Momofuku, Cooking at Home, and the memoir Eat a Peach.

Today, Momofuku operates restaurants across the United States, including Noodle Bar East Village and Noodle Bar Uptown in New York; Momofuku Las Vegas; Majordōmo in Los Angeles; Super Peach in Century City; Bāng Bar; Kabawa; Bar Kabawa; and Peach Palace at JFK Terminal 8.

The Momofuku Abu Dhabi menu has not yet been revealed, but the brand’s existing restaurants give diners a strong idea of what to expect. Current menu highlights across Momofuku’s restaurants include Crispy Lamb Ribs, Garlic Chicken Ramen, Ginger Scallion Noodles, and Five-spice Roasted Duck.

Saadiyat Grove is shaping up to be a key part of the capital’s cultural and culinary future. Located on Saadiyat Island, the Aldar development is currently under construction near Louvre Abu Dhabi and is scheduled to launch in late 2026, featuring more than 40 food and drink outlets, 85 fashion and beauty stores, workspaces, and a gym.

With its mix of celebrity chef cachet, New York attitude, and Asian-inspired comfort food, Momofuku Abu Dhabi looks set to become one of the capital’s most closely watched restaurant openings of 2026.
