Abu Dhabi’s dining scene is always giving us a reason to keep an eye out for what’s next, and now, a familiar Dubai name is making its way across the UAE. After making a splash at Marsa Boulevard last year, Solenn is now heading to Abu Dhabi.
The popular Greek Mediterranean restaurant is set to open at The Arcades within Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, bringing its laid-back, sun-soaked dining style to the capital. While details surrounding the new Solenn Abu Dhabi outpost are still under wraps, the location alone feels like a fitting home for a restaurant that puts as much emphasis on atmosphere as it does on what’s on the plate.
If Solenn’s Dubai outpost is anything to go by, the Abu Dhabi opening is set to bring plenty of Mediterranean charm. Expect a warm and inviting space featuring natural woods, soft neutral tones and subtle Mediterranean touches, creating the kind of relaxed setting that makes lingering over lunch or dinner feel effortless.
Solenn’s menu is rooted in Greek Mediterranean flavours, with an emphasis on freshness, simplicity and quality ingredients that don’t need much fussing over. Think seafood, seasonal vegetables, fragrant herbs, olive oil and plenty of citrus, all given an elevated touch.
Similar to Solenn in Dubai, you can expect the likes of Marinated Artichoke Hearts, Truffle Arancini, Burrata and Heirloom Tomato Salad, Charred Octopus Skewers and Spicy Tuna Tartare to grace the menu.
Backing the concept is renowned chef Gregoire Berger, one of the UAE’s best-known culinary names. He was formerly head chef at Ossiano at Atlantis The Palm, and is now behind his own restaurant, Kraken on Wasl Road in Dubai. His cooking is known for its attention to detail and a strong sense of storytelling, with an emphasis on balancing flavours while making every dish feel memorable.
With The Arcades at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club as its new home, and the Dubai outpost offering a tempting preview of what’s to come, it looks like the capital is about to get its own slice of Mediterranean magic with Solenn.
